Estelle Everett, MD, MHS


About

Dr. Estelle Everett is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCLA and a board-certified endocrinologist uniquely trained in health services research. She completed medical school at UCLA, followed by an Internal Medicine residency and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Johns Hopkins University. During her fellowship, she earned a Master of Health Science in Clinical Investigation and a certificate in Quality, Patient Safety, and Outcomes Research from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins.

In 2019, Dr. Everett joined the faculty at UCLA in the Divisions of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, with a secondary appointment in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research.

Her work is fueled by both her clinical experience and a personal connection to diabetes, driving her deep commitment to advancing diabetes care. By integrating clinical insight with rigorous research methods, Dr. Everett brings a unique perspective to understanding how real-world systems, policies, and patient experiences shape diabetes management.

As Principal Investigator of the Everett Lab, she leads a multidisciplinary team and oversees several ongoing studies focused on identifying patient barriers to diabetes care and designing innovative, patient-informed interventions to improve outcomes.

Dr. Everett holds several leadership roles in national professional organizations. She serves as the chair of the Committee on Opportunity and Reaching Excellence (CORE) in Endocrinology within the Endocrine Society. She also serves on the American Diabetes Association’s Member Advisory Group (MAG), acts as the MAG liaison to the Diabetes Technology Interest Group, and is a recent member of the Health Care Delivery & Quality Improvement Interest Group leadership.

Her research is supported by funding from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) at the National Institutes of Health, as well as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program (AMFDP).
