Jessica was born in El Salvador and grew up in New Jersey. She went to NJCU where she completed her B.S in Biology and minor in Psychology. She volunteered as an EMT for a few years and worked as an ED Tech before starting medical school. Now, she is a second year medical student interested in promoting health literacy to empower marginalized communities into becoming advocates for their health. Outside of school, she likes playing volleyball, trying new foods, and spending time with loved ones and cats!
