Joyce was born in South Carolina and moved to California when she was 9 years old. She went to school to be a medical receptionist out of high school. Her sister worked at the Lundquist Institute at Harbor-UCLA and her investigator was looking to hire someone who was bilingual in English and Spanish. Joyce was interviewed and given a chance having no experience. She was hired in Jan 2001 and has been very happy with her job and loves working with the research patients. She has six grandkids and is a great grandmother of 1 sweet 7 month old little boy, Matthew. She tries and spends her free time with them. She also enjoys reading.
